HI all,
My husband's credit file is linked with mine, if I apply for credit do they also search his credit history?
There are three searches have shown up over the last two years - two relating to joint accounts (obviously) but one is a catalogue in my name only yet when I applied for 0% credit cards they haven't shown on his report. Should I check this out as fraudulent or is it normal practice?
Thanks

If you're financially associated then your credit history will affect any applications your husband makes and vice versa.

The searches may not show on his file - but his record would be taken into account.
I'm not sure how rigerous catalogues are in this respect but certainly a "proper" lender for a credit card, loan, mortgage etc would be likely to take both into consideration.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Maybe it's just a matter of time before the credit card searches show up on his then or maybe it's on a different search than equifax - thanks x0
