years ago polycell used to do a DIY secondary glazing system. now that most people are "double-glazed" there doesn't seem to be anything similar. or have i not looked hard enough? or do u know someone wants to get rid of theirs?

Wickes still do it - or at least it's in their catalogue - don't bother with the on line site - phone your nearest store
Not quite as versatile as the old Polycell one in terms of sliding frames but still excellent as a winter draft proofer for old windowsTANSTAAFL !0 -

hi wellieboots - tks yr msg. i live in surrey, sort of halfway between kingston and guildford. my main concern is one window, but could do 2. there's a few inches difference between them but roughly 67" x 46". is it worth yr while crawling up into yr loft? and what have u got, polycell or similar? e.g. yellow plastic or silvery metal finish? where do you live and how much do u want?0 -
I thought it was white metal but will have to check. Also would need to find all the fittings but they should be somewhere. Can I let you know next week end as OH will have to go into the loft. I've been waiting 23 years for the loft ladder to be fitted you see.
I am going to London on Sunday, Nat His Museum - is that near? (Pardon my knowledge of London without looking)Love living in a village in the country side0 -

You need to send a PM (Private Message) which you can do by clicking on the bit near the top of the screen which says 'Private Messages' or by clicking on the username of the person you want to send the PM to at the side of the message. I think I've got that right ...id wrote:i've never done this b4, i wanna unsubscribe thread now whithout giving the whole world my phone number or details. any idea what to do?Signature removed for peace of mind0
