Is my Tesco receipt wrong or do I need a sit down in the corner?!

Apologies if this is in the wrong place :o

bought 3 shampoos from Tesco today, SEL said "buy 1 get 2 free"

Each was priced at £1.97

Recipt shows 3 shampoos @ £1.97

At the bottom it states "timotie buy 1 get 2 free" than -£1.93 :o

Should it not be -£3.94?

Does double the difference apply on offers such as this? I know nothing. Clearly.

TIA :A

Looks like the offer had finished, there have been issues with printing SELs at a number of Tesco stores this week.

Definite DTD, if you can show that the label was out when you bought them.

  • Well, the fact that your receipt says bog2f and only takes off less than the value of 1 shampoo says you have a good reason for DTD. Even if they have removed the SEL when you go back.

    It's only a game

yes I thought I might be stuffed if they removed the SEL, but it does clearly say it on my receipt? :)

So, er.....DTD....will that be double the difference between the saving I should have made and the saving I did make? (i.e. £3.97-£1.93x2 = £4.08)

Apologies, only read about DTD on here, never actually done it...

I thought DTD had finished and they only refunded the difference now? am sure I read that on MSE a while back? either way OP you've been overcharged so should go back for some moolah!

DTD is still valid where you've been over-charged. It was for the price comparison with Asda where it ended.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

The timotei wasn't working properly yesterday as you have noticed. You have been overcharged by £2.01 your DTD will be £4.02. Look at your receipt again and notice that the shampoo is priced at £1.97 not £1.93 ;) Take your receipt back to customer services as it clearly states BOG2F.

It clearly states on the receipt BOG2F and it hasn't been applied, I wouldn't worry about a SEL in this instance.

You're right. I went to CS about this very problem two nights ago and after much faffing and head scratching I got DTD back of £4.02 for three bottles. Actually I'd bought six bottles so got a very satisfactory £8.04 back. I'm amazed they haven't fixed this glitch actually because it's been around for nearly three days now. But iit's 100% clear on the reciept so take it in to CS. And stand back and enjoy the sight of the CS staff puzzling outthe maths, lol...

(Was Timotei Blonde shampoo and conditioner I bought btw, three bottles of each. Good buy at B1G2F anyway, even without DTD!)
