Since medieval times, Christian establishments have offered shelter to travellers etc

The Occupy London group have been enjoying a kind of honeymoon period with the Church of England and, more importantly, with the Media (check out Jon Snow's interview on tonight's Channel 4 News)

But they have made their point, and no longer need shelter

Of course they should leave. They have made a laughing stock of themselves( and the church) by pitching loads of tents then leaving them empty and going home.
Imagine if the street vendor who self- immolated and triggered the Eygptian/Arab revolution had decided instead just to stick pictures of flames to himself - 'to give an indication ' of how he felt.
They have nebulous ill defined demands and aims which they don't seem particularly committed to. They should grow up and go home
