Time? No more time than prepping any casserole, surely, then either sticking it in the slow cooker or low oven.
It's a good method for rice pudding too btw, or overnight porridge for breakfast.
The time it takes to find suitable old blankets, quilts and then wrap the pot up and then find somewhere to store it while it cooks. The time and expense it then takes to wash said items afterwards. Sorry, but prepping a slow cooker is a darn site quicker and probably more cost efficient than this method!
