    We recall hearing the phrase before, not heard it a lot though .... thought it meant something like exhausted, like if you spend all day cleaning the house you might feel bottomed out :)

    Yup, I've heard of it, but in more of a past tense, e.g. "has the housing market bottomed out?". So I guess it would be to "Bottom out".

    They use the expression in Lancs for giving a room a really good clean
  • Used in yorkshire for same meaning as Polly5 but would also mean to reach lowest point.
