just an update - feel sick

Hi guys

I have contacted Payplan and had my financial review jobby and I've to call my case worker tonight to go through my options. Feel very sick.....

Me and my hubby were in bed last night (now don't be rude...) and we were saying oh my god, our life is going to be tipped upside down. Changing banks, no overdraft to rely on, no credit cards  maybe not even a switch card!
Frightened about how much a week we'll ahve to pay and what if we can't manage? :o

Sorry for the rant......just needed to tell somebody.

Try not to worry too much. I felt sick until Payplan helped me sort it all out. Now I sleep much better at night. It really focuses the mind when you don't have an overdraft or credit card. Most basic bank accounts give you a Visa Electron card which I have and you can use for most purchases in shops, on the net etc. I've never had a problem with it. Payplan will help you draw up a budget which is tight, but do-able. I've had a DMP with them for nearly 2 years now and although my budget is tight and I have to think about every single purchase I make and whether I can afford it, it's not impossible. I still have Sky and broadband and am supporting my daughter through uni. It means less clothes, going out etc but I've found this board which helps pass the time! Good luck. You will fell better once it's all sorted.

I know where you're coming from ..... I'm just setting up my DMP and was worried sick too but payplan and people on here have really helped put my mind at rest. Payplan have told me that I may have a choppy couple of weeks just whilst I make the transition of bank accounts and direct debits etc etc but once that's done things should settle down and I can then really concentrate on getting on with my life and getting this debt paid off more quickly (currently looking at 30 yrs)!

It will be quite a lifestyle change - and yes - we will all have to think a lot more carefully when we want to make a purchase (which isn't a bad thing - it was not thinking that got me here in the first place) ..... but I'm sure with the help and support from these boards - we'll all get there!

If you want to PM me - please feel free - sounds as if we're in similar stages of the DMP set up!

  • HI

Sorry to be ingnorant, what is payplan.

I called CCCS the other day after 2 months of deliberating and was not that impressed.

I think it may have something to do with the time of day I called, it was just before they closed for the day, the advisor was very quick to advise and i felt a little put out.

It took a lot to swallow my pride to ring CCCS, but I doubt I will ring them again.

    Is payplan similar?
Do you have a web site address?

    Thanks
