WOW!!!!!! well done greenlogo :T
It's so encouraging to read other people's accounts of how this website has changed their habits, and in many cases, their lives too!!!! :beer:"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Taz - That's a good idea, and I'm actually going on a trip with a club in a couple of weeks that'll involve at least 3 stops for fuel, so it'll be easy for me to check there too
(I've gotten myself involved in the organisation, so I can direct some of the expense... cheap places for dinner and stopping at a supermarket on the way to pick up snacky things
)
crana999 - Our libary's website is fab (although it's 20p for a request..) I can use it for renewals too. I've been checking out various sites for my addiction
it's a great idea - and less rubbish to throw out too. I think I'll keep with the TV mag though, it's only 30p and I like to circle things I want to tape and so on so it's worth it to me (for now... once I've moved I fully expect to be busy with vinegar and slow cooking!) .
Thanks Curry_Queen - I really do feel like I've turned a corner, and it's great to feel like I can control my money, rather than my money controlling me AND I had cheesy beans on potato for tea tonight, beause I was planning my food and they were just scrummy.Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Greenlogo
You are quite right- food does not have to be dear to be "scrummy" , hubby thinks we have never eaten so well since I got my new slow cooker and soups,curries and ham hocks appear like magic. The fact that I am saving a lot of money is almost incidental!:):):)"This site is addictive!"

Elona, I've had exactly the same response from my husband too, I used to think I was spoiling them with treats from the supermarket, now I know better

Moggins
It is quite scary, isn't it - when you think that in the past we would spend a fortune getting what we thought was "the best of stuff" and now when we use the slow cooker and cheaper cuts we get more appreciation than ever before.:):):)"This site is addictive!"

It's probably because we're back to eating "proper" food - like we did as small children, rather than ready meals and more commercial pap
that we've been using to "save time" - or at least that's how it is for me... I'm getting a lot of satisfaction from MAKING things in my kitchen too, and I know exactly what's in them so it's much much better for me.
I brought my own milk to work today - nice and cold from the frozen bit in my lunch box, but I'll need more cold when the weather is warmer - and it was all going swimmingly until I dropped the bottle on the way to the micro and spilt half of it all over the floor
. Ah well, I still had enough that I didn't need to buy any for my cereal so I'm still calling it a success

Corned Beef Hash for tea tonight, never thought I would see the end of a bag of spuds without half of them sprouting or going green

Oh sorry Moggins/greenlogo - corned beef hash is one meal I just can't stand! Not long after my mum and stepdad got together (70s) he lost his job and mum took on a second one in the evenings to cope. All my stepdad could cook was corned beef hash and we had it about 3 or 4 nights a week! Really makes me feel sick now

Hehe, that sounds like me and roast chicken and boiled potatoes, every Sunday for 20 years. I can't stand roast chicken or boiled spuds now.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
