Sorry, one more question out of curiosity. Can the DCA re-default this debt as a different entry?

I hate to keep replying to my own questions, but I am about to call the bank and want to make sure I am not shooting myself in the foot by doing so.

I have read so much in the past 24 hours, but if I contact the bank/DCA and or pay any money is that going to reset the 6 years that it will take for the default to fall off, or does that only apply to people looking for the 6 years statue barred status?

Can my bank reclaim the debt if they have legally sold it?

Really worried about this, you should see my nails - they are stumps and I don't normally bite them!

If the bank sold the debt to a DCA, then you will no longer be able to deal with the bank as the DCA will be the legal owners of the debt.

Send them a CCA request and take it from there.

I have sent the bank a CCA from the LearnMoney website.

Even is the debt is now legally owned by the DCA, surely I would still pursue the bank to remove the default as it is registered in their name?
