Is there any such thing as a back to work loan

If one is able to gain new employment is it possible to get some sort of loan to cover travel etc, bearing in mind most places pay monthly and any last jsa payment may not stetch that far.

A Job Grant is a tax-free lump sum. You may be eligible for a Job Grant if you have been claiming one of the following benefits:

• Employment and Support Allowance
• Incapacity Benefit
• Income Support
• Jobseeker's Allowance
• Severe Disablement Allowance

You will need to have been claiming benefit continuously for more than six months and starting work of more than 16 hours per week.
You'll automatically get Job Grant if you're eligible. You just need to make sure you tell your Jobcentre Plus Office that you're starting work. You'll be paid in the same way as you were paid your benefit.'

You can of course ask for a crisis loan but that will not be a lot at all I can tell you as someone I know asked to borrow enough to live on (the same as 4 weeks jsa) and travel money to get to the job for the 1st month and was offered £41.
