Advice needed: Will ex-husband going BR affect me?

Hi All,
My husband and I split earlier on this year and as of tomorrow we will no longer have any financial ties together: no joint accounts, loans, mortgages...anything.
He has announced that he is considering going bankrupt because he's going to struggle to pay the minimum payment on a loan he has in his own name after Christmas.
As we are technically separated with no joint liabilities, if he were to go BR prior to us getting the divorce finalised, would this affect me?
Thanks

BR is personal to that individual......No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -
What about on credit searches if I apply for..say..credit check on a rented flat or summat?
Sorry if I'm being dense....really panicking!;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0 -
Check your credit reports and see if there is still an association. They take a little while to catch up, so make sure that they reflect the nothingness. Ask him nicely to do the same, because you will still come up on his due to prior associations and you'll get checked because of that.. leaving an imprint (as I discovered after dis-associating from my ex!!) You can file a notice of disassociation to each credit file if you want to. Quite simple to do.
As long as you have NOTHING - zilch, nada, no mortgage, no nothing at all, then you have no association any longer. Just make doubley sure all accounts are closed and your (his) credit files reflect that. His BR will have absolutely no bearing on you at all as long as you are not associated.0 -
Thanks for your replies.
The only association we still have is that we're technically still married. Although it has now been 7 months since I moved out and he has filed for divorce but no papers have been received from the court.;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0
