can i get a mortgage

Hi there would it be possible for me to get a mortgage. i have three defaults all in jan 2009 with 2 late payments in the last year. since then iv paid off all 16000 of debt and im now debt free,my credit score is 650 and i earn 26000 a year. i have 6000 deposit. i need 40000 for a house is this possible.
