Damaged item, can I return this?

I bought a lightshade today in a Choice (Next outlet) store. When I got home I noticed that they had rather stupidly stuck the large price label on a paper part of the lightshade and you guessed it, it tore the shade when I tried to peel it off
I'm fuming, especially as its a long drive back to the shop, and I certainly don't fancy going all the way back to be told they won't take it back because its damaged.
Is it worth a try? Its no good in the condition its in now

You should have the phone number on your reciept, give them a call or google to call the head office to discuss it, it sounds like their error: you would probably not have bought the lamp if you knew this was going to happen. I'd take it back as it would be damaged and their fault not yours. I'd also request petrol or travel money for having to do so or call or email the head office if your unable to make it back to the store (time constraints for eg). Most firms do try to help customers if they are genuinly at fault.0
