Debt paid, but not owed

Hi,

Im new to this so be kind.

I have found out that my boyfriend has been receiving debt letters that he knows nothing about.
After much arguing, i have just found out that his dad has paid a debt collection company called Arrow Global Guernsey Limited this is back in July 2011. His dad has told him that the company they were claiming this money for was Orange..... my boyfriend has never has an Orange mobile - NEVER! But his dad thought he was helping by paying this collection company as they were theatening legal action.

So my question is: Who can he contact now to get his money back and how can he go about this?

I think fatbelly is wrong...but do not know how to go forward..if i was you i would phone the dc company and ask for the money back as it is legally not owed by your boyfriend. Can you prove that?
or go to the citizens advice..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
  • I agree - the Citizens Advice or even maybe the police as surely this is criminal behaviour?
