Good Morning fellow DFWers :hello:
Today I am going to do my tax return to avoid the dreaded £100 fine. I am also going to chase up my bank charge claims as both are now beyond the 14day limits that I gave them.
Finally, I am going to set up an additional payment to my DH's credit card so that I can pay any ebay profits directly off it, hoping to get it clear by the end of the year.
Have a good day everyone x

I need to buy some new cutting scissors too but they can hold off until i make more via ebay etc as they are way too expensive for me ATM.:o
Added my 2penneth on my unpaid dispute against a buyer on ebay.
Enjoy the rest of the day, those before, and those after me!0 -
Morning all
I have a long long list of jobs to achieve today (after watching Jeremy Kyle!!!) which include:
*paying the contents of my penny jar into the bank - done
*keep my spending diary up to date - done
*get rid of recycling/ charity shop stuff so that I can access all of my clothes in the wardrobe and get reacquainted with missing items and reducing the need to do further shopping as there will be none of the 'I've got nothing to wear' syndrome! - done
Have a productive day people!
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
Morning all.
I walked to the doctors surgery (blood test & blood pressure check) and walked back again AVOIDING the bakery where I could have easily been persuaded to get a nice warm pastry or something along those lines for breakfast! So I saved myself a quid or so there.
I Am just off to do QuidCo & Pigsback stuff and I also think I will do a quick wash so I can get a few bits out on the line. It's very cold but bright and there is some wind so hope these can dry off a lot over today and finish off on the radiators if need be.
Have a lovely day everyone!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Today I have or will be -
Trading an old phone in via Envirofone, for that I will receive £8.67
I am working from home so I get paid yet no travel expenses or food expenses today so that saves me £4.00.
We are going for a flexible mortgage today with the ability to overpay, which will save pounds of interest in the long run.
Its my birthday and instead of going out and spending my o/h is cooking me a store cupboard meal and we are watching a DVD (free on a amazon trial) and drinking the left over Xmas booze. (Southern Comfort and Budwieser
)
I am posting a few ebay parcels I made money on.
And I am banking my birthday money as savings rather than spending it.
I am dyeing my own hair rather than going to the hairdresser (but that I always do anyway)
I have the central heating on a low setting and I have two extra layers of clothing on instead of the heating on full welly.
I have just bought a sim card from the orange website for £1.00
You get 300 free texts per month and free calls to other orange phones after 7pm. You have to top up by a minimum of £10.00 per month.
This is good for me as I am currently using £40 per month on pay as you go.
I reckon I will save about £20 per month with this card...if not more.
I put 3 new things on Ebay everyday. That way i dont get overwhelmed with parcels to send, I dont get fed up with listing and I have a constant trickle of bonus cash coming in.
And thats it....so far.
Have a good day y'all. xx0 -
Hello,
You lovely people! You really are. Thank you so much Hypno for these daily threads. I cannot belive how many money saving things I have achieved just by remembering to put them down in writing.
I achieved all my weekend goals except the e-bay listing one. But, I have now filed 3 years worth of bills, statements, letters and other important documents - it took all weekend and taught me a very valuable lesson, do the filing weekly, at a minimum monthly otherwise it will become unmanageable.
I also went back through my online statement this month and transferred my spending to EqgerLearner's Frills Spreadsheet (some really shocking results!). I also calculated my bank charges with Capital One ready to claim.
So far this week I have done all my CT's for pigsback and brought lunch to work.
But that will be it for today as I have had some brilliant news thanks to you guys... I have been accepted for Virgin's 0% BT card, they e-mailed me this morning. This may not seem like a big deal to most people but having had such a horrible time with financial institutions since I came back to the UK in 2002 - noone would give me the time of day - even my bank where I had banked since I was a child treated me with utter contempt.
The Virgin card means that my only remaining debt is now at 0% for 13 months. A totally achievable pay off target.
I am a super happy bunny, but there is no way I could have done it without this board.

I'll be joining the OP doing his Tax return - January seemed such a long time ago in April.
That is of course if I can keep my mind on it despite the nightmare I found myself in today.0 -
Hi guys...
Today I am posting an ebay parcel but more monumentally for me last night I managed to get mine & my OH's shopping for the week for £30!! I honestly can't believe this... all thanks to my new DFW regime

oh my gosh, i'm so impressed! I find it so hard to walk past a bakery without wandering in!
Today I've:
-posted some ebay parcels
- been organised enough to send a birthday present 2nd class so it costs me less, but will still get there!
- made some soup and frozen it

Today we have posted ebay parcels.
A few items are ending on ebay today, but only sold for 99p each. Better than nothing though.
I signed up to another mystery shopping company.
I entered pigsback comps.
Signed up to mytns.
Attempted to get a washing machine on freecycle, but it's taken. The lady has said if this person is a no show we're next on the list.
Tonight I'll be making birthday cards. I started card making as a money saving venture, but it's turned into a hobby. I've personally only paid £30 on stuff, and the rest I got for Christmas. Still I worked out that I spend about £80 a year on cards, so as long as I stay strong and don't spend more money this would have worked out well. I also saved wrapping paper from xmas to use as backing paper for next years xmas cards. And saved all mine and my familys xmas cards to cut bits out of for next year, and to make labels from.0
