Our Xbox has left the image of the game 'printed' on our TV. We've turned everthing off, but it's still there, whichever setting we put it on. It's there when we watch the TV, despite the Xbox running through a different lead. Has anyone else heard of this? What can we do? Thanks!

Is it an old CRT TV?
If it is then i'm sorry to say the image has been "Burned" onto the screen so it will always be there.
A static image on a CRT burns away at the phosphor coating that produces the colour image causing a pattern to remain on the screen.
Not a lot you can do about it. (That's why computers have "ScreenSavers" it's to save the screens from burning a static image if left on...)
Looks like it's new TV time...Laters

Is this a plasma TV by any chance. It's rare with the latest TVs to get such bad "image retention" to use it's technical name.
What you need to do is display a pure white image on the TV for a while (5 to 10 mins or so). This will correct the image retention.0 -
Don't know how effective they are but there are products like PixelTuneUp that claim to improve/repair burn in or ghosting images if your tv is plasma, LED or LCD.
Some details here0 -
It's an LCD tv, we've only had it about a year. The kids left the x box on the same screen and went off and left it for over an hour. Thanks for the replies so far folks.0

Simple to sort then. Are you able to plug USB or SD cards into your TV? If so, create a white image (using paint, or photoshop) to the same resolution as your TV, copy it to a USB stick or SD Card, put that in the TV and "show" it for a little while.0

All sorted. We turned it off again and it had faded, so turned it off for ages and it's now gone! We're watching The One Show without even a hint of 'Kinect Adventures'! Phew! Thanks so much for your help everyone, lesson learned!0
