Giant Radio-Controlled Flying Fish or Shark for £19.99 through Groupon

1319470324080.jpg

I was emailed this deal this morning, I think it is a great buy :) My kids love the advert

Copied from the site:

Like a frisbee, a flying shark can be difficult to catch, but makes a great dish when out camping. Get a bite of the fun with today’s Groupon: £19.99 for a giant flying radio controlled shark or clownfish from Boobar Bashalot.

This five foot long radio controlled shark or clownfish can enthuse kids about the ocean, carry dinnertime summons, and in conjunction with Jaws recordings, freak out sleeping siblings. Able to turn a full 360 degrees with a few flaps of its tailfin, the fish can traverse mazes and escape lobster traps. The inflation lasts at least a week, and can be refilled with helium at most card shops and florists or anywhere that sells helium balloons, or with a home helium canister bought from a large supermarket.

  • Sounds like it comes in a pack and will need filling with Helium to start...best start filling those canisters now...
  • Still not received mine. Email gone into Groupn today. Looked suspicious when the paypal when to Year of Cards??
  • Apparently they are counterfeit and groupon have withdrawn sale. Where do we stand now then. I cant post a link because Im a new user but if you search google and type in boobar counterfeit
  • I received the two "flying fishes" i ordered this morning and I'm not impressed they are a cheap imitation of the "Air Swimmers" and to top if of they don't even come with instructions you have to download them from the flying fish website.

I have contacted boobar and have requested a refund. Who have replied and tried to fob me off. I have also rang Groupon and they tell me that they can only refund me once i have sent the products back to boobar. So what i do now i don't know !!

My gut feeling told me to stay away from this and i wish i had they are a real pile of rubbish and an absolute con .
  • :(:(

    Hi all,

I found this thread while checking for reviews on delivery time, not happy. In the purchase email the video groupon listed (and link I have) takes you to the you tube video titled 'Air Swimmer' is this not classed as misleading? Also Boobar have now placed a notice stating their phone lines are down, contact by email and another notice stating they do not sell 'Air Swimmers'......As far as I'm concerned I bought 'Air Swimmers'

Has anyone had any luck with Groupon? I have not got mine yet and dont want a copy..........

    Thanks in advance :)

I also contacted Groupon who said we have to take it up with the supplier - so I contacted them (Boobar-Bashalot) and they said they do not sell Air Swimmers and that we can return it (unopened) if we pay a £5 re-stocking fee. Of course, we were not going to know it was fake without opening it...
Sounds like a bit of a scam to me.

I still have the original Groupon offer and the link clearly shows "Air-Swimmers" product... Any suggestions?

Am going to attempt a chargeback on this. If it works I'll let you know...
