Morning,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this thread or not. I want to purchase an upright freezer to put in our garage so I can bulk cook and freeze the extra for other days. Does anyone have any good recommendations of which freezer is best to purchase. Also if anyone knows any good voucher codes for places that would also be appreciated.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks x

There can be problems with freezers in garages, my mother has had one for years and it has all been ok, but it is something to to with the thermostat and outside temperature. FOr some reason if it gets too cold the freezer will not work, although I think it is a worse problem with fridge freezers.
have a good google around it.Eating Out of the Storecupboards Challenge.

beko are good freezers, reasonably priced and i believe will work down to lower temperatures so will be good for in a garage. you need one that will work low.
I have this one being delivered sunday

Thanks for your help, I have had a look online for quite a while yesterday and decided to go for the same and will be delivered at the weekend
I will also go and do a big shop on offer foods so we can start to save money each month on groceries. I will be having a cooking session on Sunday too so tea in the week will be easier.0 -
I got a 2nd freezer last year (DM upgraded & I got the old one!!!!) - on her advice, I've stood it on a bit of old kitchen worktop.
This apprently helps with the cold as it's not sitting on the concrete garage floor and helps protect it a bit.
It got down to around -19 deg last year & it was fine!
You can get more in chest freezers than ones with shelves/drawers - but they're often harder to keep track of / easier to lose things at the bottom so a good inventory is pretty much essential. Also, if you have a chest, putting similar things into plastic carrier bags makes it a lot easier to pull them out eg a carrier bag full of bags of blackberries is a lot easier to find than lots of individual bags of blackberries floating around the freezer.
