Your credit score is irrelevant to lenders - they don't see it (so don't pay extra to keep getting it) and they will each have their own criteria that has to be met for them to lend.
If they do a new check - you will either meet their lending criteria = getting the mortage, or you won't = not getting the mortage

I think Halifax have a "live" system which picks up any additional borrowing, so they are probably already aware!
Also you will find it is probably a condition of the offer that you do not take any further borrowing.
