Hi all, just a quicky.
In summer last year me and my OH applied with halifax for a loan [by her account as i am the main earner] and have recieved my credit file stating that a search has been done and that we are INDEFENTLY financially linked unless i do an dissociation with her. BTW didnt get it.
Overall i have the better credit as she has missed a few more than enough payments over the years with store cards and cc's.
Is it wise to ask for a dissociation and can i do it??

Do you have any joint accounts? If you do that is an association.0

If you apply for something in joint names you are associated and are both liable for that debt, but i would think it was that only
guys am i wrong?0 -
but does it matter that we didnt get it anyway?0

It will still show as a search0

so therefore can i dissociatate from her? because the search will stay on there forever until i do anything0
-
whats the problem?
you can't remove a search0 -
its just saying that because of the search and only of that particular search therefore we are linked EVEN though as stated we didnt get it.
I havent enquired about this to equifax as of yet.0 -
The search will stay on their for a year. After a year write to the Credit Reference Agencies with a Diassociation Notice. Unless they have evidence to show joint accounts they should be staisfied.
If you are so concerned, I don't know why you applied for a joint loan.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
i know our bad - but in the end we worked around not getting a loan anyway0
