council tax

Hi all, I have just realised that I was paying a higher tax band than any one else in the same street in my previous home, I lived there for eight years and moved two miles away in february 2003 but stayed under the same council in Scotland can I make a claim or not?

  • Not sure about that. However I've just looked at Martin's valuation table for 1/4/91 and found it different to Falkirk Council's valuation table for the same year. I thought I was paying too much, going by Martin's so applied. The FC's table makes me a just possible, over paying case...and then maybe not! Why are they so different?

Scotland bands appear to have been different - Please see post #253 by WRabbit on the comments thread about the article -
