  • I was in a similar position a few years ago. Given that there is an overlap in pay you should still aim to get you new job onto the correct tax code asap.

    The only problem you may face is if this overlap increases your annual earnings enough to tip you over into the higher rate tax band. Provided this doesn't happen everything should balance itself out in a couple of months once you've got your tax code sorted.

    i was paid a week overlay by both companies as one paid me my normal wages and the other my holiday pay
