First Time Buyer Mortgage - Looking at Post Office?

Myself & my partner are also in the process of buying our first house.
We have been using an Independant Mortgage advisor and thought we'd found a good deal & then she said she'd spoke to the Building Society in question and they werent comfortable lending to us (my partner works a lot of extra hours so this really bulks up his salary). So yesterday i had a look online myself & found the Post Office and they looked like they have quite competitive rates. My mortgage advisor doesnt get deals from Post Office.
I would also like to know a little more about Post Office, when i spoke to them on the phone last night and answered all questions she said they could offer in prinicpal based on my info.
Are the quite a generous lender?
If i was to apply with them and it wasnt accepted for any reason would this then ruin my chances of getting a deal with another? We havent done any other applications.
Thanks in advance

I have recently been offered a post office mortgage which I applied for online, they are very good... I would recommend them.0

Newbie here. Had to register to give my opinion.
I have just received a mortgage offer from the Post Office, and would throughly recommend them. We went from OIP to offer in about 10 days, they sent text messages to advise on progress of the application, and the underwriter also called when he needed a bit more information, and also to provide updates.
All in all they have been fantastic.0 -
Thanks guys, just in the process of filling in the application! Fingers crossed!0
