Extended Warranty on Bosch Washing Machine

I finally got my 2 year warranty for my Bosch Washing machine through the door this morning along with a letter asking me if i would consider extending the full parts and labour cover for another 3 years at £139.00

Just wanted to know if its worth the money as I am caught between 2 stools

On one hand that washing machine was an expensive purchase and I bought the most reliable unit I could afford, even to the extent of making sure it was built at the German factory instead of the Spanish factory and if it goes wrong then I am back struggling with washing down the laundrette and because of my medical condition I do 5-6 loads a week.

On the other hand I am skint and even though I can spread it over 10 months and pay £13.90 on direct debit I have to think what price will they offer me in 2 years time to extend it for another 3 years and will that price have shot up in 2 years or will I have more money coming in in 2 years.

Anyone got any thoughts?

I've had a Bosch washer for over five years now and it has never let us down. It does around 5 washes a week, it's strong and silent, and seems as new now as when newly purchased.

If we had gone for the extended warranty it would have been money down the drain. Having said that, if you were unlucky with the machine it would be expensive to repair.

It's difficult to decide really, perhaps some others can help you decide.

    Good luck

I've just bought a Bosch Condenser Tumble Dryer and debated the same, in the end I went for the 5 Year Guarantee but it was only £69 on a nearly £400 Dryer so a good investment I think, gives piece of mind.

On a Washer I would certainly go for the guarantee, especially if it is going to have heavy workload. I went for an LG Direct Drive Silent one at nearly £500 but it came with a free 5 Year Parts & Labour Warranty, which I have used once as the door lock went, which because of the design needed a new door and lock, which on it's own would make a good sized dent in the £139.00.
