What to do with the kids today that is cheap (or free)

Hi and morning all MSE's

I have just had a look on the days out board but can't find anything suitable.

I have a 2 year old son, and 12 and 6 year old daughters.

Do any of you lovely lot have any suggestions (please take into account our lovely weather).

I would really like to make today a special one for them as tomorrow I am at work, then Thursday I have to take our Kitten for his 2nd injection (then probably watch him playing in the garden). Then the girls and I will do some baking, which they are really looking forward to.

Friday they are here until 4pm when they then go to daddy's for the weekend and I am off for the joy of weekend nights at work again.

Any suggestions welcome.

Think simple ... is there a body of water nearby to paddle in ... is there a park that you can scavenger hunt in just make a random list and go around in pairs ... is there a play ground that you can make an obstacle course on like swing back and forth 5 times run up the tower and down the slide then etc ... have had fun with my son and some old friends kids cleaning up cemetary picking up rubbish and stuff and using some of really old ones for bit of history lesson was more fun than it sounds! ... look for a walking track close to your area and take a picnic ... even look for local libraries/ museums/ art galleries for free activities ... take them to local second hand shops and give em minimal money to spend each eg 2 pounds and see who can end up with most/ coolest stuff ... see if there is a cheap skating rink or something near you ours is really cheap and good family fun ... if you have a video camera 'make' a movie or use your camera to make a photo board sort of like those movie montages you see in comedies where they do a whole lot of silly stuff to the sound of a cool song, take photos of them trying on silly hats/ sunglasses/ clothes/ pretending to play instruments/ sitting on funky furniture, this is a great activity for wet weather 'shopping' since you don't actually buy anything! ... find a really good book and take it outside somewhere beautiful and take turns reading it aloud ... see how many people you can get to say hello back to you/ smile/ wave etc as you more around a public area ... or my favourite thing we have done lately which is go up and down our street and meet all of the people that were home, really fantastic experience for the kids and we made heaps of new friends ;o)

Hi, that must sometimes be a struggle finding things to do with a 2,6 & 12 year old as I'm sure they all want to do different things! How about swimming, bowling or ice skating? I'm sure they must be some 2 for 1 vouchers somewhere online

Good luck, hope you have a great day whatever you do :)
