Hijacked hotmail account

Bit of a long shot this, apologies if it's in the wrong section. I had my hotmail and ebay accounts hijacked, and all passwords etc changed. I've been able to pursuade ebay of my identity, but not hotmail - a result of the changed account log in. Has anyone had similar experiences, and been able to regain control of the hotmail? I only seem to be conversing with an automated email person, and can get no response other than

"After thoroughly checking the account profile information you provided, I regret to inform you that it does not match the information stored in the account."

Any help would be appreciated

I was really surprised when I emailed hotmail customer service, after my hotmail account appeared to have been spoofed (I got a 'message undeliverable' from a genuine hospital in Spain which I'd never heard of!!)
Anyway I didn't expect much of a response, being such a big company, but I had a long and detailed, obviously personally written explanation of how this had happened and how I could prevent it happening again..

to cut a long story short, my suggestion (if you don't get any better ones) is to register for ANOTHER hotmail account, and contact customer services from that one. I reckon you may get a better response if you are already known to be a customer (ie emailing from a hotmail address).

Thanks - I tried that from my daughters hotmail account. It served to confuse things because they asked for proof of ownership of the account, confusingly from my daughters account - which isn't mine.

You would get that response because the hijackers have changed the password etc.

Try logging in by saying you've forgotton your password. If they haven't changed your security questions you may be able to reset the password. Its a bit of a long shot though.

you could try emailing to abuse@hotmail.com or spoof@hotmail.com.

otherwise you will just have to start again, painful though that is, at least it was hotmail rather than your ISP provider.
