If you send a letter via royal mail addressed to Santa with a stamp (I think there is an actual address...although we always seemed to make it up when we were younger!), Royal Mail send a card from Santa as a reply.
We did it as children and my brother does it for his daughter now. Although last year she got a reply from the French Santa...!!

I knew an ill child who was worried father Christmas was angry with her for not being brave enough (bless her) so I wrote my own one and actually had great fun doing it, i pinched ideas from some films and books and made it very personal to her. It was very easy to do and I printed it off in a hand writing style font and posted itBest wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

When my son was younger - I asked one of my friends to write a letter from one of Santa's Elves to my son... my son didn't recognize her handwriting and she really enjoyed creating the letter and she decorated it with stickers and glitter etc. It was very personal to my son and what he'd been up to during the year and above all it didn't cost me anything as I already had all the crafty bits...Always be yourself, unless you can be a Unicorn - then always be a Unicorn !

The NSPCC do one for a donation (I usually do £5) which we do for our kids each year.
Its really cute and personalised, takes 2 mins to do and my sons checking the post every day already expecting it this year!
Nice to do a bit for a good cause too! HTH0
