Hello all, i have a quick question, which is concerning me as it's got me worried. Recently the Job centre assigned me to one of these group application meetings, where you apply for a job then they get in contact with you. I followed it up and may have the job depending on how i get on at the induction.
In a previous post on this website i explained i am quite unfortunate due to my location etc., this job is not ideal in the slightest, but due to job centre giving me it i HAVE to go through with it. Now i have also got an interview with somewhere else, which is lined up next week, they are giving me maths and English test's there and i am extremely confident i will pass, in which case the job in question is mine.
Now here is my dilemma, Can i say no to this first job? and then go onto the second because i haven't actually been offered anything for the first, but luckily the second will have a guaranteed start.
Will i get sanctioned for failing to turn up to the first job in question if offered? if so how long will the sanction be for. I have already spoke to an adviser and they just tried to pass some rubbish explanation to me without even listening to what i had to say.

It is generally considered bad form to pick on a poster's use of English on these forums. But as so much hangs on it for you ....... If you are offered both jobs you could always leave the one you don't want.0

I didn't, JCP have the nasty habit of matching you to anything that is in your agreement, even if it's not possible to get there.DVardysShadow wrote: »It is generally considered bad form to pick on a poster's use of English on these forums. But as so much hangs on it for you ....
These posts are in a rush, so grammatical error's will happen. As for the tests, they are easy I have passed them before.0 -

When they give you the job you do have the opportunity to tell them if it is not within your jobsearch area. You need to speak up in order to avoid problems like this.0 -

Actually, whilst I fully agree with the sentiment and the last three alterations - and being a lousy typist I will forgive most things as conceivable errors...
It actually is "maths"! "Maths" or "mathematics" is a noun, not a proper noun, and only proper nounds start with capital letters - unless of course, as in this sentence, they are the first word in the sentence

I wasnt matched up with jobs outside of my search area. You should have said so at the time, you and the JC both agreed to the travel time so i cant understand how the JC have matched you up with this job thats 2 hours away.0
