Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Mortgage-free Glee!
My local Sainsburys (Ashford, Kent) had basic woks this morning with various bits inside, chopsticks, spoons etc on offer for £1.49. A great bargain if you need one.

This is kind of more a question regarding getting bargins.
In the past I have bought stuff as follows:

Example: Item is £2.50 or offer 2 for £4 (ie. £1 off)
The item is then reduced (expiring sell by date) to 50p, you buy 2 and £1 comes off so items work out free.
Today, bought a few things - the money was coming off, but then the cashier overwrite the money coming off - receipt had supervisor code. So still got bargins but free is always nicer :-) Has sainsburys policy changed ?

Here's a tip - if the multibuy makes it £0.00 or more the cashier/supervisor will normally allow it - if it means they're giving you money to take it away and they notice ( a lot of zombie cashiers don't look) they'll change it. (Usually only a problem if they owe you money when they total up)

If you are buying multi-buys and they are reduced to the extent that they will be free or better than free, (work it out yourself) split them up on the belt, puting normal price or other reduced items in between items. That way they don't remember (or care) if the first item was full price or reduced. It's still the best supermarket bargains you can get but they seem to be getting stock control better controlled these days (although my freezer is full to the top just now)
