Large deposit, not great Credit! HELP!!

I don’t have great credit. I want to apply for a joint mortgage with my partner who’s credit file is fine.
We have £70k deposit for a property valued at £190,000.
We are first time buyers.
What are my chances or what are our chances of a high street Bank (who we both bank with) accepting us?
Any ideas or Mortgage advisers out there that could help out out?

Thanks.

Absolutely no idea because you haven't given any information about what your 'not great credit' is - you need to be more specific.

What is the bad credit? CCJ's, defaults, missedc payments, IVA, bankruptcy?

If so when and for how much?

    What is your income?

Bad as in I cant get any credit.

I dont have and Bank rupcys or CCJ's, IVA, DRO or anything like that.

I had a Loan and it just took a while to pay as I was stung with intreast and PPI and then 2 months after I got the loan I lost the job as i was only temping. (i was young at the time and regret it now) paid of 8 months ago but its ruined me on the credit score side!

The debt was sent to inhouse and then outside debt collection agencys. I obviosuly defaulted on the loan and thats why my credit is rock bottom.

Is there anychance at all I can be considered for a mortgage with my partner with this kind of credit rating?

    £2000.00 Loan was for

Get copies of your credit reports from Experian, Equifax and Call Credit. Pay for the £2 statutory ones, not the free trial which can be difficult to cancel.

    When was the loan defaulted?

May be options for you. Have a chat with a broker.

  • Definitely ask a mortgage broker for advice, we had a similar LTV and we got a joint mortgage even though I'd been bankrupt and my partner's got no income!
    Good luck!

I was in the same boat. I recommend using L & C which this site also recommends. They found us a great mortgage with Santander and I was accepted no problem because we had a large deposit. Good luck
