Am ftb looking for 90% mortgage. I am interested in one of there deals for a mortgage but don't know much about the post office as a lender. Do they take an overall view of you including affordability or like a bank and only credit score?

Your credit score is just one factor considered during the process of a mortgage application. Depending on the specific product applied for, lenders will have their own risk tolerance.0

Post office requested my most recent p60 and last 3 payslips during my recent application.0

I would assume it will be exactly "like a bank" as the Post Office is just the brand name, your mortgage would be supplied by Bank of Ireland.0 -
Hi there,
Myself & my partner are also in the process of buying our first house.
We have been using an Independant Mortgage advisor and thought we'd found a good deal & then she said she'd spoke to the Building Society in question and they werent comfortable lending to us (my partner works a lot of extra hours so this really bulks up his salary). So yesterday i had a look online myself & found the Post Office and they looked like they have quite competitive rates. My mortgage advisor doesnt get deals from Post Office.
I would also like to know a little more about Post Office, when i spoke to them on the phone last night and answered all questions she said they could offer in prinicpal based on my info.
Are the quite a generous lender?
If i was to apply with them and it wasnt accepted for any reason would this then ruin my chances of getting a deal with another? We havent done any other applications.
Thanks in advance.0 -
