Can anyone recommend a good singer or singers for a church wedding, and give me an idea of prices? I prefer female if possible. Our budget is very tight but don't really want to go for recorded singing in the church!
Thanks in advance.

Another? I haven't noticed any wedding threads on the NI board recently.
Maybe I'm just not very observant...

Think the last thread they're referring to is a few months old.
I was at quite a few weddings over the summer and Arco played at 2 of them - they are excellent I think tho they are very dear.
I've mentioned on here before a group called Arietta (sp?) who I've seen 2 or 3 times now at different weddings. I think they're from Dungannon, but they did play at my friends wedding here in Belfast so they can travel. Don't no how much they are but I do know my friend tried to keep down costs of most things so they might not be that bad.
I think these are both on facebook?
Did you check out gumtree?
Also, ask wherever you are having your service - they sometimes have suggestions of groups they have worked with in the past.

My daughter had a girl called Maria McAllister, singing while she walked up the aisle, and then during the signing of the register, I can't remember the cost now, she has a web site where you can listen to her singing. It was really lovely.0

Hi - take a look on facebook for these two
Donna Taggart Celtic Lady - fantastic voice (shes is from Omagh area)
Promise Wedding-Music - this group sounds fab and have some clips on you tube. (think they are from Co Derry)
Orlaith McGinn (you will find her on you tube too) shes from Omagh area too and is wonderful singer - think she might sing with her sister too.
Hope this helps!0 -
We had promise wedding music do our music at the ceremony, they are based in co.derry which is local for us anyway, not sure how far they travel/if they charge travel expenses but i think ours was £150 for all the ceremony music... we only had half the group tho, other girls were on hols but i would def recommend them- the singer una is fantastic and they were very accomodating. They are on facebook & youtube.0

Wanchai, if its a church wedding ask the church if they have any singers that are particularly good and would be worth having a listen to. Quite often there will be one or two people in the church choir or folk group who have beautiful voices and would be happy to sing at a wedding and wouldn't charge much at all0

lol yes, mine has 2 choirs, one full of older out of tune but well meaning people and one with slightly more musical ones who can sing and play instruments
Worth asking to hear some though if they think any are good0
