decent black wooly tights?

Options
Hello,

I am looking for some warm tights for winter wear with dresses and boots...

When I say 'wooly', I don't necessarily mean they have to have wool in them, just that I'm looking for that sort of wool/cotton knit texture, rather than opaque smooth tights.

I need several pairs - so far, I have bought a pair from Tesco - clearly designed for people with an inside leg of about 24 inches!!! I also have a pair from asda, which fit ok, but tend to fall down when walking, leading to constant tight hitching, which is never good!

I'm not particularly tall (5 ft 6 or 7) so I'm not sure why the Tesco ones were so short in the leg on me.

If anyone can recommend any decent ones I would be grateful - I don't want to keep buying them only to find they are useless.

:D

Just bought some from New Look for £4.99, they are gorgeous and I am the same height as you, they stay up and wash well and soooo soft!

  • I got a two pairs from H & M about 2 years ago, one grey and one black. I believe they were about £6 and i LOOOOVE them. They're so reminiscent of school tights, lol and still going strong. Now that's value for money.

Edit - Btw, I'm 5 foot 8 and these are a perfect fit.

  • I would suggest Primark all the way for tights! They do some that have a high denier appearance on the outside but are fluffy on the inside! Amazing and cheap!

If you want thick ones and you are going to wear them with boots, can you wear leggings instead?

I picked a pair of these up today - I really like them, and they are actually warm!! They don't fall down, and they are great with boots, thanks! :)

Will try some of the other suggestions too, cheers! :D
