Any feedback on laser clinics (in Birmingham)?

I need some hair removal done, and I am planning to try laser/IPL.
I traipsed round Birmingham yesterday and popped into several places. Their prices (including available discounts) were similar, and I struggled to make a decision between them.
So, does anyone have anything particularly positive (or negative) to say about specific laser clinics? I am interested particularly in those in Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Thanks
Debbie

there is a place in tyesley birmingham called sterex (think thats the spelling ) where it is free they do different things there hair removal thread veins etc it may be worth giving them a call they actually train people there so you are a student you will be there longer than going to a salon but it is well supervised with tutors there at all times0

Any chance you could say what the prices were you were quoted?
I can't help you with Birmingham but I've been to one in Nottingham, First Hair and Beauty.
The therapist was very nice and seemed to know what she was doing - I had had treatment on my upper lip in a Dublin salon 4 years ago so roughly knew what to expect. I was a bit surprised though that she said she didn't need to do a patch test as I had had it done before and so she could treat me straight away (underarms). Not sure if it is ok?
BUT I didn't ask around for prices before I went (I had signed up for a Wowcher voucher at £98 which gives me 6 sessions up to a value of £699). Prices vary depending on how hairy you are, ok I'm hairy but I'm not a gorilla. I was surprised when she said I'd have to pay an extra £20 per session. But she seemed very genuine so I trusted that she wasn't overcharging me. Thinking about it now though that makes each session worth £136 or £816 for six sessions on underarms! is this reasonable?
After zapping me (not as sore as upperlip) she waxed and re-treated the area. I had to put a lotion on the area for a day or so after treatment but otherwise all is well underthere. So servicewise seemed very good but am just a bit worried am being scammed on the price. Ofcourse as I'm now hairfree I can't check around for prices as it depends on how hairy you are:rotfl:0 -

Headline prices for IPL were typically £120 per session, but there are all sorts of discounts available, especially when you are willing to pay in advance for a course of treatment. It's a bit like buying double glazing! Cheapest I could find was £600 for 8 sessions (all paid upfront), which is a good price, but should I be considering other things apart from price?

Thanks for that Debbie,
I checked out Visage and Abbey salons in Nottingham during the week and they quoted £85 and £70 per session so prices seem to vary alot.
As for what else to base you decision on, I don't know. If you haven't had it done before they should probably do a patch test so you can see if you are happy them? Sorry I can't be of more help.
Have to go have a chat with mine about cost tomorrow, not looking forward to that, am a wimp.0
