Part exchange a part exchange!!

Hi all,
I'm new to this... :)
I'm considering buying a new house for various reasons. I haven't got mine on the market yet, but have spotted one for sale I rather like. It was part exchanged for a new build so is currently owned by the builders. I was wondering if it is possible, or if anyone has any experience of part exchanging a part exchange?
I'm not sure if that makes sense... I thought that maybe the builders would take my house plus a bit in exchange for the house they are selling? I don't know if this is the "done thing" or not though!
Thanks in advance!

I did this back in 1993 when we part exchanged our 3 bed semi for a 4 bed detached in a different area.
You may well find that it needs to be a big jump say from £100K your house to £150K the house you want to buy but give them a call
