hello
my ex has now a new partner and her 2 kids living with them
he pays csa for my son and i get £10 as am on income support
if i inform them of his new situation, would he pay more or less do u think,as her income would be taken into account but she has 2 kids
what do you think?
hes declared bare minimum as it is and id hate for him to get away with anything!!!!

Her income isn't taken into account, so you won't get more. IN fact you will probably get less as there are 2 children in his household now and if he is on the old system, his protected income will have increased, thus leaving less to be able to pay his maintenance, so it may reduce (or at very best it will stay the same). If it is on the new system his income will be first reduced by 20% to allow for her children and you will get your percentage of what's left - so less money coming from him. Leave it alone.0

I can understand you not wanting him to get away with anything but why would you want part of her income
, her only crime is being with your ex.... 0 -
I think you should inform them so that he can have them put on his claim. You won't get less because you are on IS but his new family may get more money to live on.Barclaycard 3800

It is therefore up to him to do that brokenhearted if he thinks he will benefit. It should not be up to the PWC to do it for him. If his assessment is reduced to below a tenner a week, then she will lose out, so it is best if she keeps her mouth shut and up to him to notifiy the CSA if he wants to. Also, if the PWC comes off IS and is left with less money that isn't going to be helpful either.0

But don't you think Kellogs this comes into the what comes around goes around arguement? As much as the PWC needs money to live on so does the NRP.
A bit of thought on both sides can do wonders to improve things for the children, which is what its all about.0 -
The NRP knows his circumstances, so it is up to him to report the changes. If he wants a reduction he will ask. I'm a PWC and have enough to worry about than whether my ex is paying (or not in his case) too much maintenance.0

thanks for all the replys
kelloggs36 is completly on my wave length!
we never see him,he dosnt declare all his earning etc,so i just didnt want him getting away with more if her wages were taken into account.
i wont be telling them anything then
thanks again0 -
hmc - if he does contact them himself and gets a lower assessment, you can apply for a Departure on the grounds of housing costs which can be apportioned to his partner - thus lowering the allowable housing costs to him which makes more of his money assessable. I would only do this if he applies for a change in circs as they will already have taken all the other changes into account and so it can only help. By doing it now, you are risking the chance that he may still get a lower assessment with the higher protected income.
Feel free to PM me for further details if you want to.0 -
