Hi
I've been looking for a while and I have decided to go for the Standard Life Personal Pension via Cavendish for a one off £35 fee.
I'm using this as a top up to my GSHP and plan to only put £300pm into some higher risk funds with retirement planned in 25 years.
I am posting to collect any comments or feedback on this choice that I plan to action on Monday.
Thanks

If its the Std Life Personal Pension plan then its not very good. If its the active money pension then two of 4 versions are not bad but typically easily beaten by others. If its the stakeholder pension then its very easily beaten.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. It's Standard Life's Active Money Personal Pension - there is only one available through Cavendish.
Looking at the Cavendish options the Aviva one is the only one I could see that looked better in terms of charges and choice, my GSHP is with Aviva and this is the only reason I've discounted it.
I know you cannot recommend etc, but you say it's typically beaten - which others should I consider, and why would they be better?

Cavendish is a limited panel, so that is probably why.Looking at the Cavendish options the Aviva one is the only one I could see that looked better in terms of charges and choice, my GSHP is with Aviva and this is the only reason I've discounted it.
Why have you discounted it?I know you cannot recommend etc, but you say it's typically beaten - which others should I consider, and why would they be better?
There are several providers that tend to be consistently at the top end on price but it depends on timescale and amounts as to which comes out best as well as how you want to invest. Standard Life tend to be closer to mid table on a consistent basis.
Skandia Inv Solutions (not Skandia life), Aviva, Aegon, Scot Life & Friends Life would be names you would expect to be consistently up there.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
