I bought my neices all a silver bracelet & charm, cost about £20 as I went to small stall in local shopping centre. Just avoid big brands & go to a little independent seller.0

We bought a similar one to this for a neighbours christening and they loved it so much we got double cake!

I'm sure you could make that keepsake box a lot cheaper -'tis lovely though
For my third daughters first birthday we bought a special keepsake gift as it was such a milestone for her to reach we almost lost her many times after she was born.
e got a robert sabuda pop up book - we got alice in wonderland, they are so amazing and beautiful - also quite cheap on amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alice-Wonderland-Pop-up-Lewis-Carroll/dp/0689837593/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319392239&sr=8-1
and we got this to go with it:
