Baby Boomers making out like bandits as usual

Some people seem to think the world owes them a living.
You make the best of the situation and don't indulge in self pity, blaming others, some of whom had it better than you and some who had it worse.
It typically wasn't the 'baby boomer' generation who borrowed as if there was no tomorrow to achieve instant gratification expecting everything instantly.
Some of them saved and with low interest rates and soaring inflation are now being hung out to dry for the benefit of others and the economy in general.
Some would argue that isn't fair but since they're in the minority they can conveniently be ignored or criticised.0 -

Youngsters today need to knuckle down, determine how important owning a house is and then make the necessary lifestyle choices to support that. It would seem that too many want it all and are not prepared to make the sacrifices to get it. Ditch the sky tv, ditch the nights out, ditch the holidays, cut out the new clothes, lose the fancy new smart phone and expensive contract, etc. These are the nice to haves when you can afford them. I know there are many that do this but many dont. They have come to see such things as necessities and not the luxuries that they are.
(sorry rant over)
Completely agree. Just for the record i'm early 30's.0 -

They happen to be the children of the previous generation who fought the war for us, and the parents of everyone of the younger generation who will inherit their legacy and financial assets.
Yes, they are a little like aliens. Parasitical aliens bursting out of our stomachs then encasing us in goo while we toil to fund their pensions, their buy to lets, and their extortionately priced houses.

1) I'm not a youngster
2) the younger generation deserve the opportunity to have a family without having to resort to being a chav.
Things are meant to improve, not get worse.
Things go up and down, sometimes better and sometimes worse. There is no law that things have to keep improving in a straight line. Thinking otherwise is rather immature.0 -

The issue is with hypocrisy.
Ie to have taken advantage of the situation then refuse it to others.
Nobody is refusing anybody anything.
Its not as if anybody is control of the present situation just like we were'nt in control when we were younger.
If your envy makes you need to blame anyone, blame the politicians.
They're the ones who do the wheeling and dealing.0 -

Without resorting to being a chav, thats a laugh.
Are you saying people turn into chavs because they have no house/pension/prospects.
They're chavs because of their mentality, give them a million quid and they'd still be chavs.
Its became a breed,not a handicap.0 -
