My new rota has me working 4 days in a row over xmas: 24th-27th December

    In one sense it seems unfair, however if they say alternated it so someone worked 24th, had 25th off etc, then it would basically mean no-one could go away at Christmas at all. By having half the team work those 4 days it means the other half have a solid 4 day break - it would then make sense to somehow reverse that at New Year, and also reverse the whole thing next year so that those who had Christmas off get New Year off and vice versa. Whatever they do someone won't be happy - some will want to at least have some time off over Christmas, others will find odd days off pointless if they can't travel to see family.

    Have you asked why the rota was changed without any notification? You could have arranged your family time for the original days off....
