Definitely, since I got rid of my debts I've been focussing all that energy I was focussing on budgeting onto losing weight instead and I've lost a stone. Never been able to lose a lb before, I think the constant worry combined with not being able to afford to do anything except sit at home eating to feel better, makes debt and weight problems go hand in hand.
I'm with the others, please do a spending diary, you're "losing" a lot of money a month. Your debt/income ratio is quite good so you can get rid of the debt quite quickly with some small changes. Go all out thrift if you want (although it sounds like you'd have trouble getting OH on board, I sympathise there!) but I found debt tackling much more managable if I allowed myself some leeway in areas I enjoyed most. For example I tried cutting the grocery bill to £40 a week. We did it, and we were miserable and tired constantly. We work LONG hours and can't/won't cook from scratch after a 14 hour day. So we spent £60-£70 a week, which some say is outrageous, but it made our lives so much easier we deemed it worth it. Instead we cut back on other areas instead. Ancient mobile on a £10 contract, etc etc.
You've got to find what works for you. Good luck!
