bridesmaid dress costs

Hi all

I've been searching through this forum (and others) but can't find the answer to my question....how much am I looking at for the cost of a bridesmaid dress in a bridal shop? Ideally I would like to get off the high street/similar but as a comparison has anyone bought say a Dessy or Alfred Angelo (or other name) bridesmaid dress for their wedding and did you notice much difference in cost/quality/fit?

TIA x

They obviously vary in price but mine is £170 then probably £35 in adjustments. Remember to ask for a discount if you buy your dress from the same shop!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hi, mine actually weren't much more expensive. They are Forever Yours chiffon dresses from the same shop I brought my dress from. They were £139 each which wasn't much more than BHS dresses but I must say the quality and fit are much much better - and that's just the sample size! I found the high street dresses to be cheap material and ill fitting but that's just my experience.
Hope you find some you love :)

I got 2 matching alfred and angelo bridesmaid dresses on ebay new with tags in a style that was perfect to go with my wedding dress . £50 each. Only one needed adjustments so was a good bargain.
  • Our alfred angelo dresses were £150 each plus £25 for alterations

Of the ones I've seen in bridal shops, they were £120 to £190, the chiffon ones were nice quality but I didn't like the taffeta ones at all, they looked like fancy dress material, really cheap and shiny looking to me. I saw Forever Yours and Alfred Angelo I think.

I bought 3 made to measure dresses from the bridal factory outlet in Northallerton.
One was a size 24 (cost extra for plus sizes!), one was a size 12 and one was age 12, and they cost £149, £129 and £129 respectively.

my larger bridesmaid lost a stone and a half (after using the communal changing room!) and her dress needed drastic alteration, the other 2 needed letting out an inch, and all 3 plus my dress needed shortening and this cost £108.

    Hope this helps
