Canon Pixma Refill Kit for MP150,160,170, etc

After being ripped off something rotten (£15 - £20 each cartridge!!!) for Canon CL-51 & PG-50 cartridges for my MP150 just thought I would pass on a seal of approval for the Calidad Trio Colour 27ml Refill kit available at 999inks and Refresh cartridges. :j
The kit comes with good instructions and all the tools to perform the refill (I recommend wearing disposable gloves) Its a little bit of hassle to screw the holes wider on the top of the cartridge using the provided tool to allow the refill nozzles in the first time but once its done its done. Took about 10-15 mins in all.
The refill kit is compatible with the following printers:
Canon Pixma IP1200 IP1600 IP2200 IP6210D IP6220D MP150 MP160 MP170 MP450 MP460
For just £5.99 (even less with Quidco!) - the savings are brilliant - it would cost approx £25+ in equivalent 'official' Canon ink. I've printed a few photos and they look fine and I reckon as good as printed with the Canon ink. I haven't tried the black refill yet but that will be my next buy when needed.
I bought from 999inks through Quidco and it tracked fine: http://www.999inks.co.uk/items_Canon-Colour-Inkjet-Refill-Pack-27-ml-921-TRIO--For-Use-In-CL-4151_1197
Don't forget Quidco 10% cashback at 999inks.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for that recommendation. Funnily enough I was looking for my MP150 earlier and saw these at 999inks but wasn't sure whether I could deal with the hassle. For a third of the price of the black cartridges I think I could deal with a bit of mess! I shall order both sets (as my inks have run out at the same time - clearly the colour has been filling in for the lack of black!).0

Hey indiegirl
Let us know what the black refill is like. I imagine you will only have to widen one hole on the top of your original cartridge to perform the refill so should only take a few mins.
BTW - if you buy from 999inks then enter the coupon code FRIENDS15 then you should get another 5% off.0 -
To update...
Black ink - a doddle. Messiest bit was getting the original cartridge out! The supplied tool was fine - a bit difficult to screw into the plastic and took a bit of effort to actually make a hole, but managed eventually. Ink went in fine - only a slight bit of spillage. Printing is perfect though - looks great value for money to me... and only a few mins of my time.
Would definitely recommend the black, not sure I'd do the colour if it's fussier though....0 -
i got a load carts for mine in poundland0

Do the ink level monitor software still work if you refill a cartridge, or do they recognise that the cartridge has been refilled and diable itself (like it does with compatibles that re-use the chip)?
Im talking about my IP4200 here, but maybe they are all the same?Nice to save.0 -
Thanks for the link. Have just ordered the black refil set. Have been looking for this for ages- was beginning to think they didn't exist for the MP150.0

have also found the canon ink refil sets for 50p cheaper than the 999inks:

The price also decreases if you buy 3 (£5.24 each) or 6 (£4.99 each)0 -
Another thanks for this. I've spent the last few days searching for compatible Canon cartridges for the ip6210D without success. Have now ordered the refill kit so hopefully will be back printing in a few days.0
