Hi, you've come to the right place. The first thing that you could do is post an SOA (See guide here )
People who know waaaaaay more than me will be along in the morning to give great advice. :)

Please believe me that as bad as it looks on paper (and trust me I know) there is a way out with support from the motley crew here.

Hi there lovelyjay, What a nice username! :D

Welcome to the site, you are in the best place for advice, the old timers here are brill at picking apart a problem and offering advice.

The first thing they will ask for is a detailed SOA.

Please use this link - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=107280 and give as much detail as you can.

This will enable the experts on here to advise you of the best way forward.

    Hello lovelyjay.
Welcome to MSE. You were obviously very upset when you posted this morning and most of us would have been in bed :D
I am just off to work but the experts will be up soon with lots of suggestions.

The phone calls from creditors are always bad at first. When they realise you are dealing with the debt you owe, they will eventually tail off as you come to payment arrangements that you can afford.
Its a long road but you've taken the first step:T so hang on in there until we get you sorted.

    Hi Lovelyjay,

Welcome to MSE and well done for posting.

As others have said, you need to post your statement of affairs (SOA) on here, so others can assist in cutting down costs.

Also, dig out a small notebook that will fit in your handbag and keep a note of everything you spend money on - the odd coffee here, etc. It will help you see where your little amounts are going (they all add up).

    Good luck!
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

    hi there
Just remember it can only get BETTER from here on in!
You mentioned that you pay one credit card off a month? Is that right, ie you don't pay off any other creditor a month? This may be why they are calling you so much.

Have you written to your creditors explaining the situation you are in? Are you getting help from your GP ref your depression. Some doctors may be prepared to write a supporting letter confirming your condition which you could copy to creditors.

    best of luck

Good morning lovelyjay, wanted to say, hello and welcome and well done for posting.

Here's my little suggestion, have you had any bank/credit card charges over the last 6 years, if so the you can claim them back, all is explained here on this thread

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=102

I wouls also advise that you change your phone number or try to block the call with caller id because you really do not need the pressure of having to deal with this at the moment.

Also good luck with your access course, keep on going, you can do it.

    Hello Lovelyjay,
At your university, you will have additional money advice available to you free of charge. There might also be bursaries, emergency funds etc that can help. Can I suggest you contact your student union to ask? At the uni where I work, we have a 'student money centre' where students can go for finance advice. Yours will have something similar, even if it is called something different. By all means follow up your CAB appointment, but try this as well, as relevant university staff tend to have the best knowledge of student finance issues. Good luck!
