Friday 21st October What small DFW things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D
morning guys  TFI Friday! :j just today to make our way through & we are on our own time!
Where have a lot of the regulars gone recently? Is there some convention we don't know about??? Lovely to see La E yesterday - fab news re the house, fingers crossed for the sofa!

Morning all,
Thanks for starting us off DNMS, I know what you mean we seem to be missing so many recently! Hope everyone is ok.
Tebheag - Know what you mean about the surveys...I've had that a lot too recently & it's doing my head in!!! Enjoy your night out tonight, sounds fancy!
KJP - Glad I'm not the only one who researches a restaurant's prices before making a decision....:o
Pixie - Your post sounds creepy
Hope everything is ok?
Question for everyone:- Is it cheaper to have the heating on low & obviously more layers on all evening after work, or use hot water bottles & again lots of layers? There's only me & OH in the house, so don't worry there are no children freezing their little butts off, just me & OH!
Today I will:-- [strike]Make use of free water at work[/strike]
- [STRIKE]Charge phone at work[/STRIKE]
- [strike]Stay in for my lunchbreak to avoid spending[/strike]
- [strike]Check my camera thread to see if there's any update[/strike]
- [strike]Food from stores[/strike]
- [STRIKE]Dinner from meal plan[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
- Enter comps
- Check online banking
- Check out this weeks flylady thread & do something
- [STRIKE]Try & keep the heating off again tonight, planning on snuggling under the duvet on the sofa this evening
[/STRIKE] - Finish working out what I've already bought for Xmas & what I need to buy still
- Put up free "No to cold callers" sign - getting tired of energy salesmen bothering us & what appears to be checking our meter?! - Can't seem to find any blue tack...*sighs*
- [STRIKE]Finish registration for TPS as I forgot to do this yesterday, just noticed the email link
[/STRIKE] - [STRIKE]Stay in tonight to save the pennies![/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Do a quick comparison of energy suppliers[/STRIKE] - Looks like we're better off sticking with our current one, yay

Hi everyone
DNMS - thanks for starting us off nice and early
And thanks for the 'shout out' re the house - fingers crossed - can't go taking any more bad news on the property front
Just can't wait to get settled in and start debt-busting again - my cc is really taking a hammering with fees etc just now but I'm still saving up for stamp duty so can only afford to pay the minimum on them - doing my little nut in. Not that I want to wish my life away but roll on the new year when I can get organised!!
Tebheag - I like your style! Have fun tonight. And I think you're better having just one going out outfit that you love than having so many clothes you don't know what to wear  I have hardly any clothes - wear the same things over and over again - I don't think anyone has noticed yet, or maybe they notice but just don't care
Anyway, enough of my waffling on...- 'Roast' chicken in the slow cooker
- See if we can go to free 'try out' day at local gym
- Take care of the last £5 note in my purse

- Check banking
- Put the change lying around in the penny jar
- Bit of knitting
- Bit of reading
- Bit of chillaxing - might make a weetabix cake - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/215590

I'm lurking too! I still read the thread every day, but there's loads going on in "real life" and need time and space to get my head round it all.
