We stop here often for a break for food and a walk when heading North and a pint for the OH when heading home. Never stayed over. Great atmosphere. However Tripadvisor reviews suggest issues with service and cleanliness which sadly fit with our experience of the bar.
We have stayed at Lodge on Loch Lomond just down the road a bit and it is lovely.0 -
I stopped for dinner and spent the evening there this year while doing the WHW. I stayed at a lodge in the campsite along from it - cannot remember what it was called but the lodge was excellent.
The Drovers Inn has seriously amazing food - I was so impressed as wasn't expecting too much. It is very spooky and dark inside, but what a great night we had - cracking atmosphere. They had 2 guys singing and everyone got involved - it was brilliant.0 -
Stayed at the rooms across the road from the drovers while doing the WHW and couldnt fault them - having said that anything after a trek from Balmaha would have seemed like heaven, plus its only a short stagger from the pub to your bed (though the road can be a wee bit busy)
It had been years since I had been there previously, pre smoking ban, and I remember it was like walking into a fog with so much smoke about - but a lovely place and as mentioned food and atmosphere are great0
