Leeds / Bradford Wedding Dress Help!!

Now that it is less than a year to go to my wedding, I've decided I must start getting serious! And of course first things first, I need to find a dress!!
I've just googled Wedding dress shops Leeds, and came up with a HUGE list! I swear I've never noticed this many out and about before!
I've fallen in love with Isadora by Maggie Sottero although that dress is one, way out of my budget, and two may actually look awful on, but I think thats the general style I wanna go for!

Does any one have any recommendations of nice shops?
Also spacious shops, somehow, both mine and my partners mums are coming along with all five of my bridesmaids!! Not sure how that has happened, only wanted my maid of honour there really!
Anyway I digress!! Any suggestions of good places to start?!

Does it have to be IN Leeds? I got mine from Cinderella's in Skipton and they are both fantastic to deal with and also great to go to as they have som many and cant do enough for you! I took 4 bridesmaids, another friend, Mum, Aunty, Mum's friend and they didnt bat an eyelid, PLUS you dont need an appointment (we told them we were going though to prepare for the amount of people!). Everyone raves over Ava Rose Hamilton, personally, I didnt see it. There are a few to be careful of in BD and HX but I dont fancy getting sued, so if you wanted to know which PM me. Huddersfield the one with House of Elliot is fab too, very large room too to fit everyone in. xMarried the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140

I would second House of Elliot in Huddersfield (I think the wedding dress bit is called the State Rooms or something) The lady is great, she can be a bit brutal but in the nicest possible way as she knows exactly what will suit your frame, size etc. I am 5ft 4 and some of the dresses looked great when I was standing on the little plinth thing but as she pointed out, when they would be shortened to fit me, the proportions would be all wrong. Would highly recommend especially if you are not sure what will suit youxx0

Oh and they stock Maggie Sottero and as jemb said, have quite a spacious shop0

I was the same Sarah when I went in, same height as you too! Also, a little gem I came across and where I got my head dress was in Morley. The shop looks tiny, but it goes out, down etc and the lady there and her husband are fab. She makes them all herself (I think she's Thai?) and so are alot cheaper than most xMarried the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140

Mia Sposa in Leeds (down by corn exchange/kirkstall markets) Used to be called something else, dont worry about any of the negative comments about when it was called the previous name. Ask for an apointment with Alex-shes...amazeballs! Involved in the design, as well as being a genuinley lovely person with an eye for what suits you.
Mia sposa do their own range (as well as other peoples) that you can adjust to your own specifications so you could concoct a maggie- look a like.
Also Angel brides in Horsforth -lovely people!

That's where my dress is from, it is called Leeds Bridal Village.
It is lovely!0 -
Thank you so much, will definitely try the one in Huddersfield, as I'm 5'2, and have no clue what will look nice, while I love the Maggie Sottero it may look awful on!
I'm so excited!!
How soon before the wedding did you get your dresses?Thoughts become things!0 -

That's a beautiful dress!
I got mine from Celebrations in Ossett - they were lovely and it was a bargain. They seemed to have sales on around this time of year as they're clearing out this year's stock - I took mine home the day I bought it which I think was November time, wedding in June the next year. I also went to Farsley Brides (in Farsley!) who were also lovely, just didn't have THE dress for me. There's one in Leeds I wouldn't recommend, PM me if you want.
Good luck - it's great fun looking!0 -
I got mine from the Leeds Bridal Village in Morley too. The dresses were lovely, the staff were friendly and they have a large amount of dresses at various prices!
A friend of mine got her dress from Celebrations in Ossett, and again, the service was prefect. Now a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage! :beer:0
