Handmade gifts help?

Well my kids want to fill a shoebox for the 'Shoebox appeal' and I would like them to make some niceHANDMADEbits. I was thinking of doing one of those pretty notepads any ideas, anyone own any blogs listing them? thanks.

P.S. Does anyone else get it when they really don't know what to ask for and everyones urging them to hurry up and choose stuff?

Hi FashionQueen, My DS is doing one through scouts, im putting in a snowman reindeer but making the antlers from card instead of pipe cleaners to make sure theres no sharp bits, ive got a skipping rope that i won from fruit shoot, some hair bobbles, some sweets and im sure ive got a scarf somewhere thats never been worn.

My children do a shoe box every year and we always put a lined note book, some pens and pencils, a rubber and sharpener in as if they children have these they are "allowed" to go to school. They can be picked up really cheap from supermarkets. Also put in a toothbrush, toothpaste and some soap. I know this sounds boring but they really appreciate these things.:D
