I think im going to get the medium one as a fruit cake option as Im having cupcakes but know some people do like a bit a fruit cake.
  • hi, no its not that one ..its plain icing with a decorative bit round the edges and they came in 2 or possibly 3 different sizes...dont know where they have gone lol...but thanks for looking x
  • Is it similar to the ones I linked? If so I wonder if they have changed the design and are now selling the linked ones rather than the ones youve seen- if so it could be worth looking instore to see which one they are stocking.

Have you considered making your own? It may sound hard, but it'snot too difficult if you just want fruit cakes with plain icing. I use Nigel Slater's Christmas cake recipe, it is packed full of fruit (I heat them in alcohol first to help them absorb it!) and keeps really well. Then but some ready made marzipan and put it on. Leave for a day or two, ice with ready made icing.

Use silk flowers to decorate it, go to a cake shop and get some boards. It is a little time consuming, but imagine how amazed your friends/family will be.

  • hi, thanks for all your replys and help...i have actually found the link in my history now and can see the cakes but its saying they are currently unavailable, i think tescos might have pulled them because "wedding season" is over and they will be wanting shelf room for all the christmas cakes and goodies. have decided to stick with the m&s cake after oh said rather exasperatedly "its only another £8 now the 2 for 3 is over" after listening to me go on and on about it lol...have decided hes right, sometimes i think i take this moneysaving a bit too far ..waste hours trying to save a few quid lol. anyway thanks guys...and the idea of making my own cake was lovely but i am instrinsically lazy!!..i sound lovely dont i???...lazy and tight fisted...perhaps someone should warn him...:rotfl:
  • I have just been into my local m and s and the wedding cakes had a 3 for 2 label, so may be worth looking instore.
  • My local still had them for 3 for 2 as well on Thursday so definitely worth checking as last post says.
