It didnt used to be a usual thing but we have had a couple of people on here who have had one in the last six months or so.

So it's hard to say really, you may get one but then again you may not. Clear as mud :)

  • I thought i would let you know about recent contact with my OR. I am Discharged from BR and have an IPA based on the old rules. I now have the chance to work O/time. I understood that any increase i received, i would lose all of it, or a percentage.
Any how following a thread on here i became even more confused(not hard for me) it was about declaring increase`s, whilst on an IPA and there was many a conflicting post( that`s not a dig, i would be lost without the advice on here). So i wrote a letter to my OR Office, informing them i have the chance to work overtime, and how much or percentage would a need to pay.
I received a letter saying they have no interest in my overtime, and that my IPA could only go down not up as i am now discharged, it goes on that i only need to contact them in future if my income decrease`s, i was very shocked and pleased, i thought i would share this, hope it helps. So i suppose its always best to contact the OR and keep everything in writing.

That's good news for you, well done.

The thing is each OR will interpret the guidelines differently and what one OR will say another won't so the safest thing to do is advise your OR of any changes in circumstances until s/he tells you otherwise.

  • I'm coming to the end of my 3 years payments to moonbeever and I actually rang them a couple of weeks ago. Over the three year period there have been a couple of occasions when I have had to reduce the monthly payment due to unforseen circumstances, normally the car needing urgent work or replacement of broken cookers etc. they have been very good in that respect. so I rang to ask for a statement and what happens at the end. they will provide a statement and if there are any arrears, just pay off the remaining amount, they seem to understand that people have emergencies. I am currently in the incapacity/esa nightmare so I have dropped to basic rate, they did ask if I wanted to be reassessed as my payments could have been reduced, but I am so close to the end (Jan 2012) that i didnt think it would be worth it, if I win my appeal my income will go back up again. apart from that I have had no communication with them throughout the period

I'd got for the reassessment and then you might not have to pay any arrears from the reduced months!
